MahJongg Master 2 challenges you to pair off tiles placed inside a pyramid shape. Each of the tiles has a symbol on it representing a Japanese season, letter or item. The rules of the game are simple: you can pair off tiles that have no other tiles on them, and they must be free to their left or right. If a tile falls under these criteria, it can be selected and matched up with another tile of the same design.

There are many game variations for you to play as well. The classic Mahjongg game, rivers, clicks, and memory. Mahjongg Memory is reminiscent of the traditional card game, "memory." There is also a two-player mode where you and a friend can go against each other in a battle of wits, where the person with the most accumulated time at the end loses.

The difficulty of the game can also be altered by selecting lower amounts of tiles, so the games are shorter. Several other options can be altered like music, background and statistics. Internet, LAN and modem support are included so players can look for opponents all over the world.
